8 Roblox script generator prompts that produce easier-to-test Luau

The difference between a useful Roblox AI prompt and a bad one is usually context. Tell the model where the code belongs, what already exists, what the server must validate, and what success looks like in Studio.

Before any prompt: give the project context

Include the Script type and location, existing RemoteEvents or ModuleScripts, the Roblox services involved, and whether state must persist. Ask for the smallest working version first. Then test it in a private Studio session before adding more systems.

1. LeaderstatsBuild Roblox Luau leaderstats for Coins and Wins. Put the authoritative values on the server, tell me exactly where the Script goes, show how other server scripts should update the values, and give me a Studio test checklist.
2. Secure shop purchaseCreate a Roblox shop purchase flow. The client can request an item, but the server must validate the item ID, current price, player currency and ownership before changing anything. Use a RemoteEvent only for the request and tell me where every object belongs.
3. GUI button + RemoteEventCreate a GUI button that requests a server action through a RemoteEvent. Show the LocalScript, server Script and RemoteEvent placement. Explain what data the server should ignore or validate from the client.
4. DataStore save/loadCreate a Roblox DataStore pattern for player coins. Include protected calls, sensible retry/error handling, BindToClose considerations, and a safe Studio testing approach that avoids risking live player data.
5. Inventory system starterPlan a small Roblox inventory system with server-owned item data, a RemoteEvent for equip requests and a simple client UI. Start with the file tree, then produce the smallest working vertical slice and test cases for duplicate/equip errors.
6. Round systemBuild a Roblox round system with lobby, countdown, active round and cleanup states. Keep the round state on the server, tell clients only what they need for UI, and include tests for player joins/leaves during a round.
7. Gamepass checkCreate a Roblox gamepass check using MarketplaceService. Tell me what belongs on the server, when to use UserOwnsGamePassAsync, how to handle errors, and how to test the feature without granting permanent state incorrectly.
8. Fix an existing errorI will paste a Roblox Studio Output error and the affected Luau file. Diagnose the likely root cause first. Then give the smallest safe code change, explain why it fixes the error, and give me two checks to confirm the fix.

A good Roblox script generator should also give you tests

Do not ask AI to “make the whole game” in one pass

Large one-shot prompts make errors harder to isolate. Build one vertical slice: one input, one validated server action and one visible result. Once it works, extend it. This also makes it easier to bring the exact Roblox Studio error back to the AI without regenerating working code.
